AIL full form

Aeronautics India Limited is an Indian state-owned defence and aerospace company that was founded in 1940. It is renamed as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) after the amalgamation of 2 companies Aeronautics India Limited and Hindustan Aircraft Limited. The company involves in various operations of the aerospace and defence. The headquarters of AIL is situated in Bangalore, India and is governed by Indian Ministry of Defence.

In the year 1963, the AIL was owned by Government of India to undertake MIG-21 aircraft manufacture. Later the Indian Government amalgamated HAL with Aeronautics India Limited to conserve resources by enabling various activities of the aircraft manufacturing units in the most economical and efficient manner.

AIL is the government-owned corporation which is presently involved in the assembling, fabrications, and designs of jet engines, transport aircrafts, helicopters and their spare parts. It has various branches in India that are located at Kanpur, Nasik, Koraput, Korwa, Bangalore, Lucknow and Hyderabad.

HAL HF-24 is the first fighter aircraft that was made by Aeronautics India Limited. AIL is reportedly the largest aerospace companies in the whole of Asia with its annual turnover of over 2 Billion dollars. The revenue is generated from international deals to manufacture spare parts, aircraft engines, and aircraft materials.
