IIT:- INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are self-sufficient open establishments of advanced education, situated in India. They are represented by the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 which has pronounced them as organizations of national significance and sets out their forces, obligations, and structure for administration etc. The Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 records twenty-three foundations (after the last revision in 2016. Each IIT is a self-governing establishment, connected to the others through a typical IIT Council, which manages their organization. The Minister is the one who is the ex-officio Chairperson of IIT Council. As of 2018, the aggregate number of seats for undergrad programs in every one of the 23 IITs is 11,279.
