NCRA:- National Centre for Radio Astrophysics
NCRA stands for National Centre for Radio Astrophysics a research institute headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra. It is a premier institute in India for the research in the field of radio astronomy located at the Pune University Campus. It is affiliated to Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. It is one of the best in its field in the world. Its research includes a variety of subjects such as solar physics, pulsars, the interstellar medium, supernova remnants, nearby galaxies, high-redshift galaxies etc. NCRA has research programs in many areas of astronomy and astrophysics including studies of the sun, pulsars, the interstellar medium, active galaxies, and cosmology. It also has research programs particularly in the specialized field of Radio astronomy and Radio instrumentation. It also provides opportunities to students in engineering fields namely Analog and Digital Electronics, Antenna Design, Signal Processing, Communication, and Software Development.
