NSCN:- National Socialist Council of Nagaland
NSCN stands for the National Socialist Council of Nagaland. It is a Christian Naga nationalist insurgent group operating mainly in Northeast India, with minor activities in northwest Myanmar until the year 2012. The infamous organization aims at establishing a sovereign Naga state, “Nagalim” which would consist of all areas inhabited by the Naga people in northeast India and northwest Myanmar. The NSSC is accused of kidnapping, assassination, forced conversion into Christianity and committing terrorist activities. The group became active on 31 January 1980 and continues to be the same till today. They work on the ideologies of Naga nationalism, Evangelical Christianity and Maoism. Chittagong hill tracts of Bangladesh, Manipur, and Nagaland in India and Sagaing region of Myanmar are the main areas of operation of the group. It has allied with the Zomi Revolutionary Army and considers India, Myanmar, and Tatmadaw as its opponents. The Ministry of Affairs of India labels the group as a major insurgent group.
