Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka are the 8 member states of the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation. And Australia, China, Europe, Iran, Japan Mauritius, South Korea, and the United States is the 9 observers of the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation. Amjad Hussain B. Sial is the secretary general of the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation. Promoting the development of economic and regional integration is what the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation widely supports. The South Asian Free Trade Area in 2006 was launched by the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation.
