SGPC:- Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee
The full form of SGPC stands for Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee was founded on 15 November 1920. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is categorized as a Sikh Gurdwaras Management Organization. The headquarters of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is located in Teja Singh Samundri Hall, Sri Harmandir Sahib Complex, Sri Amritsar. The management of gurdwaras, Sikh places of worship in three states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and the union territory of Chandigarh is responsible to an organization in India, called the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee also is an administrator of the Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar. The president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is Gobind Singh Kongo walking. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is governed by the chief minister of Punjab. The security, financial facility maintenance and religious aspects of Gurdwaras are managed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. As well as, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee keeps archaeological rare and sacred artifacts, including weapons, clothes, books, and writings of the Sikh Gurus. Bibi Jair Kaur became the first woman to be elected of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for the second time in September 2004. And she has further held the same post since March 1999.
