UNHCR – United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees or UNHCR and in French it is stated that Haut Commissariat des Nations Unies pour les Réfugiés and it also called as the UN Refugee Agency is a United Nations program with the order to ensure or give protection to the refugees that are coercively displaced communities and people who become stateless, and aid their deliberate repatriation, nearby incorporation or their resettlement to a third nation.

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees was set up in the year 1950, amid it is established after the end session of World War II. The headquarters of UNHCR is in Geneva which is in Switzerland and these members need to belong to the United Nations Development Group. The UNHCR has been awarded two Nobel Peace Prizes, once in 1954 and again in the year 1981 as well as a Prince of Asturias Awards for International Cooperation in 1991.
