UPSC:- Union Public Service Commission
The acronym of Union Public Service Commission is UPSC. It is a premier central recruiting organization in India. It is also considered to be responsible for appointments to and conducting the examinations for All India services and group A and group B of Central services. Whereas the Department of Personnel and Training is the central personnel organization in India.
The charter of the agency is granted by Part XIV of the Constitution of India and it is titled as Services Under the Union and the States. UPSC commission is mandated by the Constitution for the appointment to the services of the Union as well as All India Services. UPSC is also needed to be consulted by the Government in matters which are related to the appointment, transfer, promotion and other disciplinary matters. The commission directly reports to the President and is eligible to advise the Government through the President. However, such advice is not binding on the Government.
